摘要: Abstract The primary objective of this study was to test the usefulness two indices—edge diversity and cover type diversity—in assessing bird species for breeding avian communities in freshwater coastal marshes. Bird used as an indicator ecological quality. Permanent transects three marshes on bay Green Bay, Lake Michigan, provided basis vegetation assessments censuses. Four years field data were subjected regression analysis. best equation found be a multiple edge diversity, showing significant linear relationship with curvilinear diversity. Cover can readily assessed from aerial imagery. results are most applicable evaluation where objectives stress rather than single-species management.
