摘要: Despite nearly three decades of revolutionary government rule, poverty and inequality remain the central issues political debate in Iran. The unexpected electoral victory Ahmadinejad, populist candidate 2005 presidential election, has been widely attributed to rising inequity. Using household survey data, I examine trends for last show that this thesis is not grounded facts. Survey data substantially declined recent years, low by international standards comparison with pre-revolution years. This finding consistent pro-poor policies Islamic government, mainly provision basic infrastructure such as electricity, safe drinking water, health. However, same have effective reducing inequality, which, after an initial decline following Revolution, remained basically constant post-Revolution period.
