摘要: Composite cathode materials based on nickel, such as NiFe, NiMo, NiMoCd, NiS, and NiMoS 2 , are of considerable practical interest possible electrocatalysts for hydrogen production in alkaline water electrolyzers. This work describes the development a new composite material Ni FeS (referred to Ni/NiFeS) that shows high electrocatalytic activity toward evolution reaction. Ni/NiFeS coatings were obtained by codeposition particles previously electrodeposited mild steel substrate. The evaluation this H -evolving cathodes was done solution through steady-state techniques. polarization behavior two distinct regions exhibiting different Tafel slopes over temperature range 273 353 K. A detailed mechanistic study reaction carried out ac impedance rate constants elementary steps suggest mechanism involves an electron transfer followed electrochemical desorption step. consistency analysis confirmed establishing apparent activation energy calculated from dependence constant rate-determining step with T -1 has same value found overall
