摘要: Aspergillus fumigatus is an opportunistic fungal pathogen that invades pulmonary epithelial cells and vascular endothelial by inducing its own endocytosis, but the mechanism which this process occurs poorly understood. Here, we show thaumatin-like protein CalA expressed on surface of A. cell wall, where it mediates invasion cells. induces endocytosis in part interacting with integrin α5β1 host In corticosteroid-treated mice, a ΔcalA deletion mutant has significantly attenuated virulence relative to wild-type strain, as manifested prolonged survival, reduced burden decreased invasion. Pretreatment anti-CalA antibody improves survival mice invasive aspergillosis, demonstrating potential immunotherapeutic target. Thus, invasin interacts cells, enhances virulence.
