Comparison of channel catfish, Ictalurus punctatus, and fathead minnow, Pimephales promelas, production and water quality among a polyculture and two monoculture systems

摘要: Abstract Production of channel catfish and fathead minnows was compared in three culture methods: two-pond polyculture (water interchanged between ponds containing those minnows), single-pond monoculture, circulated-water monoculture. Improvement production water quality appeared to be related movement the circulated treatment dilution treatment. Fathead minnow comparable low intensity commercial culture. High clay turbidity received from may have depressed primary production, levels plankton standing crops, fish survival growth below that other two treatments.
