摘要: The Middle Jurassic mammal Shuotherium has lower molars that possess a trigonid and talonid, but are unique in having the talonid situated front of trigonid, rather than behind it, as usual tribosphenic pattern. dongi Chow Rich, 1982 was based on dentary bearing seven teeth, originally interpreted three premolars four molars. Based comparison with other groups early mammals, we reinterpret premolar-molar boundary holotype S. dongi, propose dental formula (or more) ultimate premolar (previously identified first molar) completely developed no or pseudo-talonid. We hypothesize mesial cingulid Australosphenida is highly plausible structural antecedent to pseudo-talonid Shuotherium. This shared, derived features support relationship sister-taxa. common ancestor + had global distribution younger Jurassic, respective clades diverged prior full separation Gondwanan Laurasian landmasses.
