摘要: The term hemolysis designates the pathological process of breakdown red blood cells in blood, which is typically accompanied by varying degrees tinge serum or plasma once whole specimen has been centrifuged. Hemolyzed specimens are a rather frequent occurrence laboratory practice, and rate remarkably higher obtained Emergency Department (ED) as compared with other wards outpatient phlebotomy services. Although hemolyzed may reflect presence hemolytic anemia, most cases they due to preanalytical sources related incorrect procedures failure follow for collection, handling storage samples; some these typical ED. Since often an important cause relationship, economic, organizational clinical problems between ED laboratory, it essential develop effective processes systematically identifying unsuitable (e.g. using index), differentiating vitro from vivo hemolysis, troubleshooting potential causes, maintaining good relations
