摘要: Tetra- and hexacatenar amide compounds containing a linear centrosymmetric benzobisthiazole core were synthesized with good yields. These characterized their structures confirmed by elemental analysis, FT-IR, Maldi mass NMR spectroscopy. All exhibited excellent thermal stability up to 330 °C. The tetracatenar series double substitution in the meta positions did not show mesomorphic behaviour, whereas having para showed liquid crystal properties optical textures typical of columnar mesophases corroborated POM analysis. dependent on length, number position alkoxy chains attached at end rigid core.
