The Part-Time Doctoral Student Experience

摘要: Although scholarly interest in doctoral education has increased dramatically over the last two decades, much of this attention focused on experiences students who are enrolled full-time their programs. This study explored 10 part-time different disciplines. Through semi-structured interviews with these students, we found that many issues surrounding involved concerns related to balance, support, and fitting mold a “traditional” student. Importantly, while some consistent more complicated required sustained flexible efforts adequately address. We conclude by suggesting both institutional empirical better understand as well develop multi-faceted initiatives support growing student population.
