摘要: Prior to the 1950s no effective therapy for coccidioidomycosis existed. The advent of amphotericin B ushered in therapeutic era coccidioidomycosis. Until this time and its lipid congeners have been regarded as "gold standard" severe pulmonary disseminated availability azoles later triazoles past three decades relegated amphotericins into a rescue mode, used mainly widely cases, azole intolerance, or when there are contraindications Azoles, such pregnancy. In meningitis intrathecal use is still frequently by some clinicians alone with triazole. newer preparations, while more expensive, significantly reduced toxicity, particularly nephropathy.
