摘要: Navigation tasks in large virtual environments often call for the use of a map. However, all maps are not alike. Performance on navigation general has been shown to vary depending orientation map with respect user's frame reference. This paper reports results an experiment investigating issues during tasks. Participants were given either north-up or forward-up configuration. search was measured terms time and errors. Results indicate that targeted (tasks requiring only egocentric reference frame) best served by alignment while primed naive information from world prefer alignment. Both types affected ability user perform mental rotations.
