摘要: The dog is the domestic reservoir of Mediterranean visceral leishmaniasis (VL). Therefore, application measures aimed at controlling canine should represent main strategy to prevent human infections. Unfortunately, antimonial drugs which are successfully used for treatment VL poorly effective in radical leishmaniasis. Killing infected dogs usually considered only measure control or epidemics man (WHO, 1984). However, foci where a seropositivity prevalence 15–20% commonly found (Bettini and Gradoni, 1986), elimination all serologically positive not achievable.
