摘要: Abstract Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were functionalized with a surface coating using magnetron sputter deposition. The CNT samples used prepared by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition and vertically aligned to the of tungsten substrate. A thin layer barium strontium oxide approximately 100 nm in thickness was deposited on their sputtering. uniform, covering whole CNTs significantly lowered work function while preserving geometry. resulting coated had 1.9 eV field enhancement factor 467, which led significant improvement both thermionic emission. Compared uncoated CNTs, emission increased two, more than four orders magnitude. At 4.4 V/μm, current 23.6 μA obtained from an emitting 0.012 cm2. Similarly, at 1.1 V/μm 1221 K, 14.6 mA obtained.
