摘要: 海水準の変動は,第四紀の特徴である氷期—間氷期の環境変動を復元することのできる優れた指標である.海水準変動の研究をもとに,地球の近過去の中で最も大きな環境変動である,氷期から間氷期への移行期の気候変動について概観する.特に,最終氷期から現在の間氷期への変遷期と,一つ前の氷期から最終間氷期への変遷期について論ずる.なかでも地球の公転軌道要素,大気中の温室効果ガス,高緯度氷床量といった3つの主要な構成要素の変化の相互関係を中心に議論する.
