摘要: Like many animals, adult male chimpanzees often compete for a limited number of mates. They fight other males as they strive status that confers reproductive benefits and use aggression to coerce females mate with them. Nevertheless, small-bodied, socially immature adolescent chimpanzees, who cannot older nor intimidate females, father offspring. We investigated how do so through study young at Ngogo in Kibale National Park, Uganda. Adolescent mated nulliparous reproduced primarily these first-time mothers, are not preferred mating partners by males. Two factors, affiliation aggression, also influenced success. Specifically, the strength affiliative bonds formed amount directed toward predicted The effect on success increased aged, especially when it whom shared bonds. These results mirror sexual coercion humans, which occurs most between involved close, relationships.
