摘要: Legionellae are bacteria that have been identified as the cause of legionellosis. Based on a rate about 1.2 cases legionellosis/10,000 persons/yr (Foy et al. 1979), more than 25,000 this disease estimated to occur annually within U.S. These caused primarily by one 23 currently recognized species genus Legionella. Most legionnaires’ disease, pneumonia form legionellosis, developed in persons who were immunosuppressed or appeared be susceptible because an underlying illness, heavy smoking, alcoholism, age (i.e., 50 years old). In contrast, although has some healthy persons, outbreaks involving limited milder, nonpneumonia called Pontiac fever.
