摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the role that selenium (Se) compounds play in inhibition or slowing of induction cancer by chemicals and other agents. Se has been implicated many aspects agriculture, nutrition, toxicology, medicine. suspected being a carcinogen Se, both from nutritional consideration as well administration compounds, affects rate growth established tumors. Selenium diet water have shown to be effective inhibitors carcinogenesis experimental animals exposed increasing number chemical carcinogens, including 3-methyl-4-dimethylaminoazobenzene, dimethylbenzanthracene, 2-acetylaminofluorene, 172-dimethylhydrazine, methylazoxy- methanol acetate. There are several epidemiological studies suggesting an increased incidence colon, mammary, perhaps forms associated with low levels environmental deficiencies. Postulated roles mechanisms may involved are: (1) reduction mutagenicity causing chemical, (2) effects metabolism, (3) protection against oxidative damages.
