摘要: A total of 499 coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) were isolated from a variety clinical specimens at community hospital. Ten different species and many strains CoNS identified. Staphylococcus epidermidis was the most common isolate. The distribution suggests that S. saprophyticus and, to lesser extent, haemolyticus may be important in urinary tract infections. lugdunensis significant isolate wound Frequently, mixed cultures found with either multiple or same CoNS. These could not detected by colony morphology upon initial overnight incubation but distinguished following development for several days. In addition, sequential positive an individual patient often yielded which again observations morphology. Procedures identification need improved, microbiology laboratories should consider use more definitive procedures
