摘要: Cynomolgus monkeys were exposed to sulfur dioxide while a control group was filtered air. The exposure for 24 hours day, seven days week, 78 weeks. Frequent measurements made evaluate mechanical properties of the lung, distribution pulmonary ventilation, diffusing capacity and arterial blood oxygen tension. Hematological clinical biochemical determinations conducted. Microscopic evaluation organs tissues conducted at termination animals. No deleterious effect could be attributed SO2 concentrations 0.14 1.28 ppm. Following 30 weeks 4.69 ppm, an overexposure occurred in this group. This followed by deterioration function which persisted during following 48 observation, alterations observed upon microscopic examination.
