摘要: 1. Normal subjects performed a step test in which the quadriceps of one leg contracted concentrically while contralateral muscle eccentrically. 2. Maximal voluntary force and force: frequency relationship were altered bilaterally as result exercise, changes being greater had Recovery occurred over 24 h. 3. Electromyographic studies using three sites on each showed an increase electrical activation during exercise only was contracting followed time course similar to that contractile properties. 4. Pain tenderness developed first noted approximately 8 h after maximal at 48 generation returned pre-exercise values. 5. Eccentric contractions cause more profound some aspects function than concentric contractions. These cannot be explained simple metabolic terms, it is suggested they are mechanical trauma caused by high tension generated relatively few active fibres eccentric
