摘要: Abstract Felis catus papillomavirus type 2 (FcaPV-2) commonly infects the skin of domestic cats and has been associated with development cancer. In present study, a FcaPV-2 virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine was produced assessed for safety, immunogenicity, impact on viral load. This is first report use VLP in cats. The given to ten adult that were naturally infected FcaPV-2, further sham vaccinated as control group. rationale vaccinating already virus induce neutralizing antibody titers could prevent reinfection new areas reduce overall load, demonstrated other species. Reducing load risk subsequent PV-associated this study well-tolerated, none developed any signs local reaction or systemic illness. treatment group, geometric mean anti-papillomavirus endpoint increased significantly following vaccination from 606 (95% CI 192–1913) 4223 (2023–8814), 7.0-fold increase, although individual response varied depending level pre-existing antibodies. Despite immunogenicity vaccine, there no significant change group compared over 24 week follow-up period. A possible reason widespread basal layer these so preventing cells becoming had Therefore, results do not support cancer which infection well established. However, justify future studies administered younger prior fully
