摘要: Enteric fever is responsible for significant morbidity in South Asia and high prevalence of severe disease seen children under two years age. Effective typhoid vaccines are available, but they cannot be used age also have some limitations older groups. Participants supported development a Salmonella Typhi conjugate vaccine able to induce effective, long-lasting immunity young children. The role Paratyphi A as cause enteric was discussed consensus reached that bivalent S. Typhi-S. highly desirable; however, considering epidemiology the advanced status development, rapid introduction monovalent into vaccination programs recommended. Prevention should emphasized, available used, efforts toward improving sanitation continued. Success new will depend on several factors, including delivery costs governmental ability adopt implement suitable immunization programs. To ensure good coverage, could administered either infants, concomitantly with infant EPI vaccines, or measles vaccine, currently given at 9 12 months. need combination containing both antigens, tool increase coverage reduce number injections priority conflicts crowded schedule. However, stand-alone would allow more flexibility immunize different groups therefore rapidly developed.
