摘要: The common practice in captioning video programs for foreign language instruction is to transcribe the spoken verbatim into captions. This presents a dense visual channel learners. study presented here tested keyword method based on hypothesis that captions present learners with less read without attenuating their comprehension of information message. design experiment was simple; use three different amounts text were compared: full text, keywords, and no text. results showed group outperformed no-text group; however, post-hoc analysis revealed significant difference between means group. positive effect both comprehension, basic research hypothesis, confirmed.
