摘要: The dysregulation of gene expression is an enabling hallmark cancer. Computational analysis transcriptomics data from human cancer specimens, complemented with exhaustive clinical annotation, provides opportunity to identify core regulators the tumorigenic process. Here we exploit well-annotated datasets prostate for discovery transcriptional relevant Following this rationale, Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) as a tumor suppressor among subset factors. Importantly, further interrogate and refine MITF perturbation-based empirical assays unveil Crystallin Alpha B (CRYAB) unprecedented direct target that is, at least in part, responsible its tumor-suppressive activity This evidence was supported by enhanced prognostic potential signature based on concomitant alteration CRYAB patients. In sum, our study proof-of-concept bioinformatics screen publicly available patient databases platforms, demonstrates MITF-CRYAB axis controls biology.
