摘要: Lyme disease, infection with Borrelia burgdorferi, is a focally endemic tick-transmitted zoonosis. During the 3 decades since responsible spirochete was identified, series of misconceptions and misunderstandings have become widely prevalent, leading to frequent misdiagnosis inappropriate treatment. Persistent concern reliability available diagnostic tools, signs symptoms nervous system involvement, appropriate choice duration antimicrobial therapy, curability infection, cause that may persist in some patients after Concern about disparate perspectives led Institute Medicine review subject. In this article we principal misconceptions, discussing their origins best currently scientific evidence related each one.
