摘要: The implementation of domain nameservice in a certain campus subdomain the ARPA Internet has lead to several questions on part local user community. This paper answers some them. It describes purpose domains and nameservers, how networks are related, historical reasons for existence domains. There is summary protocols nameservers use they implemented. Then logistics used environment, first from user's point view, then administrators. Issues utility or necessity subdomains addressed. Finally, mailbox binding treated: this potential provide campus-wide distributed database personal human names their mappings into network host addresses.
