摘要: Surgical prophylaxis is a common indication for antimicrobial use in Australian hospitals with demonstrated poor rates of appropriateness. Ongoing analysis the National Antimicrobial Prescribing Survey and exploration influences on prescribing decisions can help identify clinical behavioural issues that contribute to problematic use. Triangulation quantitative qualitiatve data supports development surgical stewardship, i.e., quality improvement initiatives optimisation prophylaxis. Such should be developed implemented at both local national levels ensure they remain effective sustainable.
