摘要: Abstract As saline streams are geographically widespread in arid and semiarid regions, flow intermittence frequently occurs as another stressor factor apart from salinity. Rambla Salada is a temporary naturally stream with an intermittent reach upstream. This ideal scenario to study the effects of on macroinvertebrate community composition biological traits Mediterranean stream. analysed three sites different hydrological regimes (one two perennials). Flow exerted low pressure which led loss drought-intolerant species taxa rather than acting selective force promote desiccation-resistant taxa. Macroinvertebrate at site was subset found perennial sites, presence flier this helped avoid cessation. These minor changes have consequences assess ecological quality these context Water Framework Directive, given major differences revealed by some indices between former obtained lower values due few desiccation-intolerant species, significantly increased value those indices.
