摘要: Abstract Cisplatin (cis-diamminedichloroplatinum [II], CP) is most widely prescribed in chemotherapy and efficaciously treats diverse human cancers, with remission rates > 90% testicular cancers. However, clinical use of CP associated numerous untoward side effects, particular, at the gastrointestinal level that reduces therapeutic efficacy often results withdrawal its usage long term cancer chemotherapy. Substantial strides have been made to identify effective protective strategies against CP-induced nephrotoxicity, hepatotoxicity ototoxicity. Unfortunately, very limited studies focused on toxicity advances developing potent gastroprotective strategies/agents are still lacking. The current article reviews metabolism pharmacokinetics CP, mechanisms underlying lastly displays potential approaches including plant-derived agents (phytochemicals) utilized counteract dysfunction. Furthermore, described experimental literature shown partial protection intestinal damage. This stresses need ascertain new information mechanism discover novel combinatorial for abrogation toxicity.
