摘要: The polarized and depolarized components of the 524 cm−1 Raman band in liquid methyl iodide were measured between 196 300°K. A technique, utilizing isotropic scattering intensity, allowed separation reorientational line broadening anisotropic spectrum from due to other processes. correlation times derived found agree well with those obtained by techniques throughout temperature range studied. dependence was opposite that predicted current theories vibrational relaxation collisional broadening. depolarization ratio also as a function is seen vary quite markedly. low frequency spectra studied results fit theoretical expression for collision induced obtain values linewidth parameter Δ.
