摘要: To analyze hospital resource utilization for laparoscopic vs open incisional hernia repair including the postoperative period. Prospectively collected administrative data repairs were examined. A total of 884 examined trends in type approach over time. Starting October 2001, detailed records available, and operating room (OR) time, cost data, length stay (LOS), 30-day encounters. Of total, 469 hernias approached laparoscopically (53%) 415 (47%). Laparoscopic had shorter LOS (1 ± 0.2 days 2 0.6 days), longer OR time (149 4 min 89 min), higher supply costs ($2,237 $71 $664 $113), slightly lower ($6,396 $477 $7,197 $1,819), more encounters (15% 13%). Use laparoscopy increased (37% 2000 68% 2004). is becoming increasingly popular, not at to health care system.
