摘要: Cases of imported malaria among civilian Jordanians returning from Asian and African countries 1991–2011 are documented. A total 511 cases were diagnosed travelling abroad. Majority reported adults over 21 year old accounting for or 87,67% the number cases. Eighteen different categories occupation identified, where as students studying abroad showed highest infection rate (33.2%), especially those India (n=70). Infection males was high 91.78%, compared to 8.22% in females. Females mostly housewives accompanying their spouses. 34 countries.Most Pakistan (23.68%), Yemen (18.6%), (18.4%) Sudan (5.1%). The majority infections due Plasmodium vivax (n=370, 72.4%), followed by falciparum (n=138, 27%). Only one case malariae observed. Few (n=3, 0.65%) mixed with P. reported. main source (25.4%) (20.3%), while (28.9%) (22.7%). Most acquired (66.7%).
