摘要: Objective. To assess whether patients with RA and SLE who are of South Asian origin have different beliefs about medicines in general, DMARDs particular, compared White British/Irish origin. Methods. One hundred (50 RA; 50 SLE) 100 were recruited. Demographic disease-related details responses to the Beliefs Medicines Questionnaire (BMQ), SF-36 HAQ collected. Results. Patients had significantly higher General Overuse (GO), Harm (GH) Specific Concern (SC) scores Forward stepwise multivariable regression analysis showed that ethnic was an independent predictor GO, GH SC having these three scales BMQ. Conclusion. very high levels concern generally worried prescribed medicines. This may impact on adherence this group further work is needed understand reasons underlying beliefs.
