摘要: This paper presents the results of an experimental research on grinding metal matrix composites. The aim investigation is to enhance knowledge about machinability some aluminium alloys reinforced with SiC different shape (powder or whiskers) and content. Investigations chip morphology, ground surfaces trend forces acquired during process were carried out. show that presence reinforcement enhances in terms both surface roughness lower tendency clog wheel, when compared a non-reinforced Al alloy. Particle-reinforced composites exhibit linear relationship between average hardness material. Whisker-reinforced higher values than particulate Data obtained under machining conditions are reported which permit evaluation specific cutting energy.
