摘要: The authors studied MR images of the brain in 152 patients, aged 1 to 19 years (mean 3.3), who had spastic cerebral palsy (CP) and were attending two hospitals Japan 1993 1994. relation was between patients' gestational age at birth their MRI findings, including severity periventricular leukomalacia (PVL) seen on MRI. In 119 these CP thought be due acquired, destructive injury. PVL 90 posthemorrhagic porencephaly 11. These preterm-type injuries observed often patients been born preterm but also those term. Fullterm-type border-zone infarct, bilateral basal ganglia-thalamic lesion, subcortical leukomalacia, multicystic encephalomalacia 9, 14, 7, 3 respectively; term-type only or near Of with PVL, 90% preterm. Severe common whose ages 25 32 weeks; all term mild PVL. concluded that findings for are closely correlated age.
