摘要: Abstract Objective: Controversy still exists whether polytetrafluoroethylene is equivalent to vein as bypass graft material for the above-knee femoropopliteal bypass. Therefore, a prospective randomized trial was performed compare with bypasses distal anastomosis above knee. Methods: Between January 1993 and December 1996, 151 were performed. The indications operation severe claudication in 120 cases, rest pain 20 ulceration 11 cases. After randomization, 75 reversed saphenous venous 76 Results: No perioperative mortality seen, 5% of patients had minor infections wound, not resulting loss bypass, limb, or life. 5 years, 38% died 7% lost follow-up. Only once necessary coronary artery grafting. Primary patency rates after years 75.6% grafts 51.9% ( P =.035). Secondary 79.7% 57.2% =.036). In group, 14 failed, leading five new bypasses. 29 16 reinterventions. For these bypasses, four ipsilateral preserved used. both groups, one amputation below-knee be Conclusion: We conclude follow-up this controlled that has better at all intervals needs fewer reoperations. Saphenous should choice Polytetrafluoroethylene an acceptable alternative if available. (J Vasc Surg 2003;37:149-55.)
