摘要: The active Banda arc–continent collision (Banda Orogen) provides many new constraints for resolving long-standing issues about the formative stages of collision. Some these include evidence trench retreat and subduction erosion, depth continental subduction, emplacement demise forearc basement, relative amounts uplift due to crustal lithospheric processes, influence inherited structure lower plate heterogeneities, orogenic wedge taper adjustments, partitioning strain, melange development, motion versus structural geometry, erosional extensional exhumation, contamination accretion volcanic arcs, slab tear, polarity reversal along strike tectonic variation.
