摘要: Abstract Thymus leptobotrys and T. maroccanus are endemic Moroccan medicinal species that intensively exploited from the wild because of their wide ranging therapeutic properties. In order to preserve these valuable plants risk extinction, cultivation (with without N, P, K fertilizer) its consequent effect on oil chemical composition biological activities were studied. Carvacrol (64.1–78.1%) was found as major constituent in samples, followed by p-cymene (4.7–12.4%) γ-terpinene (3.2–7.9%). Cultivation using fertilizer caused a slight decrease carvacrol content against an increase main precursor p-cymene. However, application increased 3.9% for 9.4% oils compared with unfertilized plants. Regarding antioxidant activity, thyme showed highest potency all assays, while cultivated fertilized had greater activity than not receiving fertilizer. Concerning antimicrobial exhibited inhibitory most tested strains MIC values ranged 0.03 31.68 mg/mL. From this work, it can be concluded could promising solution ensure sustainable utilization threatened species.
