摘要: Has foreign aid destroyed state institutions in Africa? African states depend on development assistance to conduct basic government operations, yet few of these are well governed or effective at providing public goods. The two trends, mounting and static diminishing performance, raise an obvious question: Is dependency contributing misrule failure Many critics argue the phenomena related. I find they not. My analysis fails show a negative association between receipts measures democracy economic freedom. Instead, evidence is consistent with small, positive relationship indicators performance. Since international community seems bent reducing aid, important issue how can maintain improve their performance less assistance.
