To evaluate the antigingivitis and antipalque effect of an Azadirachta indica (neem) mouthrinse on plaque induced gingivitis: A double-blind, randomized, controlled trial.

摘要: Background: Azadirachta indica (neem), a Meliaceae family tree, has been used in India for several decades the treatment of diseases medicine and dentistry. Neem considered to have antiseptic activity, but still its use gingivitis periodontitis is not very clear. Hence, purpose present study was assess efficacy neem based mouth rinse regarding antigingivitis effect. Materials Methods: Forty five subjects with plaque induced were selected study. They equally divided into three groups. Group I patients asked 15 ml mouthwash twice daily, group II chlorhexidine III saline daily. The groups perform routine oral hygiene procedures thought out period. Bleeding on probing evaluated by Muhlemann Son's Sulcus bleeding index (1971) Loe Sillness gingival (1963), respectively, at base line, after every week till one month. Results: Our result showed that an A. mouthrinse effective reducing periodontal indices as Chlorhexidine. results demonstrated significant reduction gingival, bleeding, both over period 21 days compared placebo. Conclusion: indica-based efficacious fewer side effects may be adjunct therapy treating gingivitis.
