摘要: This article applies the global commodity chain approach to analyze way policymakers encouraged an automotive touch down in Silao, Mexico. The explains that changing dynamics of auto industry have transformed it into "assembler-driven" chain. It notes how state Guanajuato employed their understanding chain, and Mexico's role North American craft a development strategy aimed at attracting General Motors then luring manufacturers automaker's supply leadfirm working producerdriven stands stark contrast recent theories prescribing industrial upgrading amongfirms buyer-driven chains.
