摘要: A uniaxial natural fabric of Hildegardia pop- ulifolia was used as a reinforcement for polycarbonate- toughened epoxy. The treated with 5% sodium hydroxide solution 1 h. spray-coated 1% silane-based coupling agent. variation the chemical resistance and void content different contents fiber orientations studied. morphology fractured composites investi- gated scanning electron microscopy (SEM). SEM micrographs indicate that bonding between Hilde- gardia matrix enhanced partially by alkali treatment. treatment in presence silane agent gave rise to skin formation on surface fibers, which indicated good matrix. Hildegardia/poly- carbonate-toughened epoxy were found have reasonable water resistance. liquid absorption increased when an alkali, used, pres- ence aqueous solutions. decreased increasing con- tent. 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
