摘要: The whiteflies Trialeurodes lauri and T. ricini have been found to be moving in international plant trade. taxonomic validity separation of these species is relevant the health quarantine services European Union as oli- gophagous, nor recorded a virus vector present EU, whereas polyphagous, reported vector, absent from EU (except for Canary Islands). Yet doubt has cast on two species, with suggestion that merely variant ricini. relationship was therefore investigated using morphological molecular data. One character traditionally used arrangement sub- marginal papillae, unreliable but differences between were cephalic setal state, body outline dorsal pigmentation. However, subtle not always reliable. data, based sequence fragment COI gene, support hypothesis are distinct valid species.
