摘要: During a research project investigating understanding of variation students in tertiary level introductory statistics course completed questionnaire prior to, and at the end of, course. This paper reports on interviews selected designed to determine whether more information could be gathered, identify those teaching learning activities that assisted develop understanding. Prompting better quality responses but cognitive conflict situations proved challenging. The diversity identified by as assisting development provides challenge for educators planning sequences. Both researchers need listen understand reasoning.
