摘要: Bis(trialkyltin) oxides react with water at 0—5° to give the corresponding trialkyltin hydroxides. The are characterised by a strong band in i.r. spectra 740—770 cm–1[νas(SnOSn)] and Mossbauer quadrupole splitting of 1·18—1·63 mm s–1, whereas hydroxides show bands 3610—3630 [ν(OH)] 880—920 cm–1(δOH), splittings 2·78—2·99 s–1. Trimethyl- triphenyl-tin hydroxide stable room temperature, but triethyl-, tripropyl-, tributyl-tin hydroxide, which low-melting solids, equilibrium bis(trialkyltin) water.
