摘要: Abstract The objectives of this research are to investigate the remediation efficiency and electrokinetic behavior ethylbenzene-contaminated clay by a surfactant-aided (SAEK) process under potential gradient 2 V cm −1 . Experimental results indicated that type processing fluids played key role in determining removal performance ethylbenzene from SAEK process. A mixed surfactant system consisted 0.5% SDS 2.0% PANNOX 110 showed best removed system. was determined be 63–98% while only 40% achieved an with tap water as fluid. It found accumulated vicinity anode However, concentration front shifted toward cathode electroosmotic permeability power consumption were 0.17 × 10 −6 –3.01 × 10 cm  V  s 52–123 kW h m −3 , respectively. cost, including expense energy surfactants, estimated 5.15–12.65 USD m for systems, which 2.0–4.9 times greater than alone (2.6 ). Nevertheless, taking expenditure into account overall evaluation, still cost-effective alternative treatment method.
