摘要: Neurosurgical oncology for intrinsic glioma is evolving rapidly. It must be patient-centered, consultant-led and research-orientated. The value of specialist neurosurgical engagement becoming more widely recognized. Detailed evaluation tailored to each patient essential before the surgical admission, in conjunction with clinical input. Medical optimization, collation magnetic resonance datasets preoperative planning providing an informed explanation proposed management its alternatives are all part neurosurgeon's remit. Meticulous microsurgical technique during surgery utilizing modern neuronavigation physiological monitoring integral components armamentarium. A clear understanding rationale intervention, including place alongside radiotherapy chemotherapy, informs decision-making. Recognition these issues driving evolution high-grade glioma. New challenges emerging need critically evaluated robustly designed trials.
