摘要: The importance of recycling end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) has been widely acknowledged as a means reducing ELV waste to the environment. This reduced environmental contributes achieving number UN SDGs, including creation sustainable cities. recovery secondary resources, such metals, from ELVs also reduces over-dependence on primary resources. promotes efficient resource utilization and conservation. While systems have established laws governing implemented in some developed countries, there are no much world, regulations few if any. To determine challenges opportunities for developing literature processes activities was reviewed, SWOT analysis done based data compiled literature, identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats. From analysis, common features identified were large market size, low labor cost, presence recyclers parts. strengths be vehicle registration system, manufacturing, legislation, recycling, management system. In case technological capacity, regulatory framework, deregistration, impact pollution, lack access information regarding ELVs, infrastructure. threats perceived little attention given by authorities, difficulty doing business, political social instability. results showed that considerable significant all countries this study. weaknesses Nigeria other emerging economies tended greater. clearly revealed countries.
