摘要: The Internet's World Wide Web (WWW) offers educators a unique opportunity to introduce computer-assisted instructional (CAI) programs into the medical school curriculum. With WWW, CAI developed at one could be successfully used other institutions without concern about hardware or software compatibility; further, maintained and regularly updated single central location, distributed rapidly, would technology-independent, presented in same format on all computers. However, while WWW holds promise for CAI, author discusses ten reasons that educators' efforts fulfill Web's may fail, including following: is generally not fully integrated curriculum; students are tested material taught using CAI; tend poorly designed. argues must overcome these obstacles if they make truly effective use of classroom.
