摘要: Abstract The water disinfecting behavior of silver-modified clinoptilolite–heulandite rich tuff (ZSAg) as an antibacterial agent against coliform microorganisms from in a continuous mode was investigated. Silver recovery the disinfected effluents by sodium-modified (ZSNa) also considered. Escherichia coli (ATCC 8739) and total microorganisms, indicators microbiological contamination water, were chosen to achieve disinfection synthetic wastewater or municipal wastewater. Ammonium (NH 4 + ) chloride (Cl − ions added interfering chemical species on processes. activity ZSAg bactericide measured concentration evaluated APHA method. amount silver determined using atomic absorption spectroscopy. inactivation calculated breakthrough curves based model reported Gupta et al. It found that when effluent is less than 0.6 μg/mL, bacterial survival percentage increased volume diminished. amounts at end processes varied depending treated (synthetic wastewater). presence NH influent notably improved (zero NVC/100 mL), comparison same without ions. A contrary observed Cl does not depend mass sodium zeolitic bed according with be wastewater) influenced ZSNa did have activity. Therefore (silver-modified natural zeolite), ( E. consort microorganisms) well quality both process column system.
